What do the two scores mean?
The SEO score measures how well your pages are set up for classic search engines: titles, descriptions, headings, links, sitemaps. The AI visibility score measures whether AI assistants can find, read, and cite your site: crawler access, llms.txt, structured data, and answer-shaped content. Each score is a weighted percentage of transparent pass or fail checks.
What is AI visibility?
AI visibility (sometimes called GEO, generative engine optimization) is how findable your site is to AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Many sites rank fine on Google but block AI crawlers or lack the structure AI systems need, so they never get cited in AI answers.

Yes. The scan crawls 5 pages and shows both scores plus your top 3 issues instantly, with no account needed. Your email unlocks the full per-check report. The free audit never expires.
Will RankMerlin change my website?
No. The scan only makes normal public requests to your site, the same as any visitor. Nothing is installed and nothing is written. When paid fix-publishing arrives, every change will require your explicit review and approval first.
My site is built with JavaScript. Will the scan work?
We audit the server-rendered HTML of your pages, which is also what most crawlers see first. If your site only renders content with JavaScript, the audit is degraded and the report says so honestly instead of guessing.
What will paid plans look like?
The free scan stays free. A paid plan (planned at 29 euro per month per site) will add the full 25-page crawl, AI-generated fixes you review and edit, publishing to WordPress, and monthly re-audits.
